DG EXPO seeks to retain the services of one or several research networks through a framework service contract for ad hoc, short-term services providing expertise on a range of foreign policy subjects. The framework service contract concerns a number of current and emerging issues falling within the areas of responsibility of Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), its Subcommittees on Security and Defence (SEDE) and Human Rights (DROI), and the Committees for Development (DEVE) and International Trade (INTA). Temporary or special committees are also created on occasion and standing delegations may draw on the expertise provided by these service contracts. LOT 3 covers the following topics:
• EU bilateral and multilateral relations with the Mediterranean and the Middle East; country-specific and regional issues;
• Maghreb, Mashreq, Israel, Palestine, the Arab Peninsula, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan;
• Middle East peace process;
• European Neighbourhood Policy in the southern Mediterranean (horizontally and bilaterally);
• Implementation of EU financial instruments in the regions covered by this lot;
• Intercultural dialogue, Islam;
• External aspects of EU migration policies;
• Arab League, Organisation of the Islamic Conference, Gulf Cooperation Council, Union for the Mediterranean, and other regional/multilateral organisations;
• Human rights and democracy promotion in countries and regions covered by this lot;
• Energy, environment and climate issues in relation to countries and regions covered by this lot;
• Socio-economic and gender issues in relation to countries and regions covered by this lot;
• Trade and economic issues in relation to countries and regions covered by this lot;
